The title of this blog is probably misleading. I can't honestly say that I have fully discovered Motherhood. I am finding out that a Mother is so many things. With each child, each stage of life, I discover or learn something new. I am learning that discovering motherhood is a process, a journey - one that takes a lifetime.
I love this quote from the book
Motherhood Realized:
It is in the ripples that Motherhood is discovered, that all of the hard, mundane tasks of Motherhood become worth it. Is there any better reward than watching your children learn to read, be kind to a stranger or kneel in prayer knowing that you had a hand in teaching them each of those things?
As I look back at my childhood, I can see that all those seemingly small, unimportant things that my mother did for me were, in fact, the most important. She, in doing each of those things over and over and over again, was showing me her love, her commitment to being my mother.
I think every mother needs that reminder - the little things we do everyday matter and will continue to make an incalculable difference for generations to come.
